SANFORD CU NEW BANKING SYSTEM CHANGES THAT AFFECT YOU ON THE SEPT 17-20 WEEKEND!
On Friday September 17 after regular closing at 6 PM we will be shutting down our old banking computer system that we have had for 15 years and replacing it with a modern new system that should last us at least another 10 years. That means that for one weekend in 25 years we will be without our core automated banking services that our membersip has come to rely on. There will be member impact on that weeknd and some things for members to know going forward, but on the whole the overall member impact will be minimal if members read and understand the following issues:
- CONVERSION WEEKEND - Please read the information we sent you!!
Because we need to shut down our old banking system, convert the data, and verify that all banking information has been converted exactly before we bring the new system back up, our in-branch/on-line/member card/ and Internet Banking services will not be available from Friday September 17th at 6PM until Tuesday September 21 at 9 AM. While we fully expect services to be back on line sooner it is important that members do not expect services during that period so you will not be negatively impacted. This means that:
- YOUR SANFORD CU MEMBER (DEBIT) CARD will not work at stores, gas stations, our ATM, other ATMs, or for any other usage that you would normally use it for. Make sure you have sufficient cash for the weekend or have a Credit Card. Sanford CU Mastercards will not be affected and will be fully functional all weekend.
- OUR ATM IN OAK BLUFF will not be in service most of the weekend and even if we get it back in service earlier YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS FUND FROM YOUR SANFORD CU ACCOUNT as your Sanford CU Member debit card will not work. Cards for other instutions may work once the ATM is back in service.
-CU@HOME INTERNET BANKING will not work from Friday September 17th at 6PM until sometime later in the weekend, likely Monday. When we do come back on line it will be with an improved and significantly enhanced version that will have many new features. This upgrade will result in you having to RESET YOUR PASSWORD and RE-ENTER your BILL PAYEES. You can change your password yourself on-line. As the old connection (URL) is changing, please go to our website at Sanfordcu.mb.ca and click on the CU@HOME button above. This will take you to a page where you can put in your default password. Your default password will be the last 7 digits of your Sanford CU member card. If you have more than one card in your own name it will be the last 7 digits of the card with the lowest 16 digit number. Once you have put in the default password you will immediately go to page that will force you to change to a new password of your choosing. New passwords will be only numeric (numbers) between 5-8 digits. After changing your password you can enter our new CU@HOME Site and continue with your Internet Banking.
RE-ENTERING YOUR BILL PAYMENT INFORMATION
As part of our CU@HOME upgrade we are changing the bill payment company which is in the background of our Internet banking bill payment functionality. Because of that your current bill payment information will not carry forward to the new system and will have to be re-entered. The easiest way to do this is to print the screen in our current CU@HOME that lists all your billers and your account numbers today. This will be all the information you need to easily re-enter your bil accounts in the new system. Old billers that you will not need do not have to be re-entered.
Bill Payment PLUS
For members using Telpays' Bill Payment Plus functionality from the button at the the top of this page, this service will be available all conversion weekend. It will continue without problem for the near future as an independent service. Most services offered in Bill Payment PLUS will now be available in CU@HOME going forward so members will likely want to switch over as the become familiar with the new internet banking.
TELEPHONE BANKING DISCONTINUED
Because of low usage and the cost of replacing old technology, Sanford CU has decided to discontinue traditional telephone banking. Effective Sept 17 all telephone banking use including bill payments will be unavailable. Alternate methods such as CU@HOME Internet Banking or over the counter bill payment will still be available. In the near future we will be introducing Mobile Banking which will allow access to your Sanford CU banking information from cell phones and smart phones such as Blackberrys. Look for information on these services as they become available.
